My name is Gary Hinrich and I've been an avid woodworker for many years. My wife, Carol and I have sold our art in many stores and art galleries but find the whole process expensive and too much trouble to deal with. Now we sell exclusively through this website. While I like many forms of woodworking, I love woodturning the most. We usually make a couple of dozen items per year and use whatever wood comes our way. Each piece is unique as we use a lot of wood most would avoid. We love the color and interesting designs that appear in burls, knots, crotch wood and exotics. We try to incorporate these in what I'm making to bring out the best colors and patterns. We generally use Lacquer, Shellac or Tung Oil on our pieces which are safe around kids and pets. While most of our pieces are intended as art, many can be used for dry foods and fruit (no liquids).
